Job description: Residential Care Officer – Full Time Creative Respite and Community Services (CRCS) Location: Springwood Head Office + Respite Sites in Flagstone and North Maclean Salary: $80,000 per annum + superannuation Creative Respite and Community Services is a well-established NDIS provider delivering individualised in-home care and supported independent living supports across multiple respite locations. We are seeking an experienced Residential Care Officer to join our team, supporting participants across our Flagstone, North Maclean, and other CRCS respite sites. About the Role This full-time position plays a key role in supporting participants to live independently, build capacity, and achieve their NDIS goals. You will work closely with participants, families, support workers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, person-centred care. You will also contribute to staff capability, positive culture, safeguarding practices, and continuous improvement across our respite environments. Key Responsibilities Build strong relationships with support, community, clinical, allied health, and medical teams. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes. Support intake processes and participant matching. Roster, allocate, and train support staff; monitor work practices and escalate concerns. Build staff capability and wellbeing, including coaching on positive risk-taking and applying the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework. Consult with participants regarding preferred staff members. Conduct environmental and staffing reviews with participants. Guide and adjust work practices using a positive coaching approach. Support participants to direct their lives, including crisis support and resilience development. Assist participants to build community connection and broader support networks. Coach participants through challenges and support them toward their NDIS goals. Uphold the NDIS Code of Conduct, principles, and participant rights. Promote a culture of respect, diversity, inclusion, and zero tolerance for rights breaches. Identify heightened risks and support workers to manage risks appropriately. Implement individual safeguards with participants. Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice. Assess participant needs and contribute to support plans, training, and skill-building programs. Monitor and report on participant progress. Refer participants to allied health or specialist services where required. Prepare reports and contribute to funding submissions. Performance Requirements (Essential Criteria) Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Residential Care Officer in community or residential care. Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting clients with daily living, personal care, and behavioural support needs. Minimum 2 years’ experience implementing care plans, support programs, and case documentation. Minimum 2 years’ experience working with multidisciplinary teams. Minimum 2 years’ experience managing challenging behaviours and responding to incidents. Strong knowledge of care standards, safeguarding requirements, and WHS procedures. Ability to maintain accurate documentation including case notes and incident reports. Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and support teams. Ability to work independently within a structured care environment. Compassionate, client-focused interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and communication skills. Demonstrated experience managing relationships with businesses, customers, and stakeholders. Relevant qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher in Individual Support, Community Services, Disability, or equivalent. Why Join CRCS?
