Data Product Manager Sydney (Surry Hills) · Hybrid · Full-time Advoc8 is a political monitoring and intelligence platform for government relations and policy professionals. Our customers rely on Advoc8 to understand what is happening across government and access accurate, timely information about the people, institutions and issues shaping public policy. This is not a traditional software Product Manager role. It sits at the intersection of data product management, information strategy and data operations. You’ll own the political information that powers Advoc8: deciding which information is most valuable to our customers, and work out how Advoc8 can source and maintain it reliably at scale. You may come from product management, knowledge or information management, research operations, data analysis or a similar role. We’re less concerned with your exact title than your ability to understand a complex information landscape, form a clear view on what matters and build scalable ways to maintain it. You’ll need to be curious, commercially minded and opinionated. We want someone who can look at the universe of data available to us and develop a clear point of view on what matters and what we should prioritise. What you'll do - Develop a deep understanding of the political data landscape and identify valuable new datasets and sources. - Own and evolve Advoc8’s Data Product Roadmap, setting clear priorities for coverage and investment. - Validate data priorities with customers, Product and customer-facing teams. - Monitor data health and ensure updates are reflected quickly in Advoc8. - Design reliable, repeatable ways to source, validate and maintain data. - Oversee research and data operations, including contractors, while remaining hands-on where needed. About you You’re a strong researcher and systems thinker who can move comfortably between strategy and detail. You’ll bring: - Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to form and communicate a clear point of view. - Good product and commercial judgement about which data creates meaningful customer value. - A systems mindset and an instinct for making processes reliable, repeatable and scalable. - High standards for accuracy and attention to detail. - Confidence engaging with customers, technical teams and senior stakeholders. - The ability to take ownership, make recommendations and work through ambiguity. - An interest in politics, government data, automation and/or data sourcing. Experience with APIs, scraping, databases, automation tools or structured datasets would be useful, but you don't need to be a software engineer.
