Multispectrum Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Linesworker to join
our telecommunications infrastructure team in Melbourne, Victoria.
This is a full-time position involving the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of fibre
optic, Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) and other telecommunications network infrastructure. The
successful applicant will work across telecommunications projects, including NBN and other
fixed-network infrastructure.

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per annum + superannuation
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Installing, maintaining and repairing fibre optic, HFC and other telecommunications
cables and associated infrastructure.
• Installing and maintaining underground and aerial telecommunications cabling,
conduits, pits and related equipment.
• Jointing, terminating and connecting telecommunications cables and fibre optic
infrastructure.
• Testing telecommunications cables and equipment, identifying faults and carrying out
repairs and maintenance.
• Installing, testing and commissioning telecommunications network equipment and
connections.
• Reading and interpreting telecommunications plans, drawings and specifications to
determine cable routes and installation requirements.
• Performing routine inspections and maintenance of telecommunications
infrastructure.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with industry standards, WHS
requirements and project specifications.
• Maintaining accurate installation, testing and job-completion records.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
• A relevant qualification in Telecommunications, Information Technology or a closely
related field, such as a Certificate, Diploma or Degree;
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in telecommunications network installation,
maintenance and commissioning, particularly fibre optic and mixed
telecommunications networks;
• Practical experience working with fibre optic and/or HFC network infrastructure;
• Experience in testing, fault-finding and commissioning telecommunications cables
and network equipment;
• Knowledge of telecommunications cabling, network infrastructure and relevant
industry standards;
• Ability to read and interpret telecommunications plans, drawings and specifications;
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a field team;
• Good communication, organisational and record-keeping skills; and
• A current driver's licence.
Experience working on NBN or similar telecommunications infrastructure projects will be
highly regarded.
