Salary: $80,000 + Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

Check the quality of raw materials and weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.

Prepare, mix, knead, mature, cut, mould and shape dough for bread, rolls and other bakery products.

Operate bakery equipment and machinery used to mix, knead, roll, shape and mould dough.

Prepare, load and bake batches of bread, rolls and other bakery products.

Monitor oven temperatures and the appearance of products to determine appropriate baking times and maintain consistent quality.

Coordinate the forming, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of bakery products.

Glaze and finish baked products as required.

Check the cleanliness and operation of bakery equipment and the production area before baking.

Clean and maintain baking trays, tins and other bakery equipment.

Follow food safety, workplace health and safety and bakery hygiene requirements.

Skills and Experience

Relevant experience as a Baker in a commercial bakery environment.

Approximately 8 years of relevant baking experience is preferred.

Certificate III in Bread Baking or a relevant bakery qualification is preferred.

Good knowledge of dough preparation, shaping, baking and finishing processes.

Ability to operate bakery equipment safely and effectively.

Ability to monitor oven temperatures and the quality of finished bakery products.

Ability to work efficiently in a busy commercial bakery environment.
