Employment: Full-time, 38 hours per week
Salary: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation

About the opportunity
The Darkan Hotel is seeking a capable, hands-on Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our community-owned regional hotel.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing hospitality operations, leading staff, maintaining service standards and contributing to the hotel's financial and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
Manage daily hotel operations across bar, restaurant and accommodation services.
Recruit, onboard, supervise and manage staff performance.
Prepare rosters, allocate duties and monitor staffing costs.
Manage stock, purchasing, inventory and supplier relationships.
Monitor revenue, budgets, labour costs and cost of goods sold.
Contribute to menu development, pricing and promotional activities.
Maintain venue presentation, cleanliness and customer service standards.
Manage accommodation bookings and guest enquiries.
Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, RSA, workplace health and safety and other regulatory requirements.
Implement operational improvements and report business performance to the CEO.
Skills and experience
At least one year of relevant hospitality management or supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead staff and coordinate hospitality operations.
Sound understanding of budgeting, stock control and cost management.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
Experience in regional hospitality or accommodation management is desirable.
Current RSA certification and eligibility to hold a Western Australian Approved Manager identification card.
Relevant hospitality qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Task & responsibilities
Plan, organise and oversee the daily operations of the Darkan Hotel, including bar, restaurant and accommodation services.
Recruit, interview, onboard, train and supervise hospitality employees.
Prepare staff rosters, allocate responsibilities and conduct employee performance reviews.
Develop and implement operational procedures to improve service quality, productivity and profitability.
Prepare and monitor operational budgets, revenue, expenditure, staffing costs and cost of goods sold.
Manage purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control and inventory management.
Oversee accommodation reservations, guest services and customer satisfaction.
Contribute to food and beverage menu development, pricing strategies, marketing and promotional activities.
Maintain appropriate standards of venue presentation, cleanliness, maintenance and safety.
Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, Responsible Service of Alcohol, workplace health and safety and other relevant legislation.
Manage customer complaints, operational issues and staff performance matters.
Analyse business performance and provide regular operational and financial reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue, control expenditure and improve the hotel's overall financial performance.
Coordinate staffing, resources and service delivery to ensure efficient operations across all departments.
Qualification & experience
Essential requirements
Minimum 12 months of relevant experience in hotel management, duty management or hospitality operations.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff, coordinating rosters and managing daily hospitality operations.
Sound knowledge of budgeting, stock control, purchasing and cost management.
Strong leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain high service standards.
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
Current Western Australian Approved Manager identification card, or eligibility to obtain one before commencing relevant duties.
Desirable requirements
Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent relevant qualification.
Experience managing regional hotels, licensed premises or accommodation facilities.
Experience with hospitality point-of-sale, rostering and accounting systems.
Experience in recruitment, staff development, marketing and business improvement.
