Key Responsibilities
- Position and manoeuvre trucks at collection and delivery sites to enable safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight.
- Load and unload freight using suitable lifting, tipping and other freight-handling equipment.
- Follow workplace safety and road transport procedures throughout loading and unloading operations.
- Perform routine truck inspections and safety checks to confirm vehicles are roadworthy and suitable for operation.
- Estimate freight weights, observe applicable load limits and distribute loads safely across the vehicle.
- Arrange, restrain and cover freight appropriately to prevent shifting, loss or damage during transit.
- Verify loading and delivery documents, check freight condition and obtain the required delivery acknowledgements.
- Drive heavy trucks between collection and delivery locations in accordance with road rules and applicable heavy-vehicle operating requirements.
Qualifications & Experience.
- AQF Certificate II or III (ANZSCO Skill Level 4).
- Minimum 1-3 year experience required
