Programmed Training Services, in partnership with Yarra Ranges Council, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Parks & Gardens Apprentice.

This exciting 4-year apprenticeship offers the opportunity to earn while you learn, gain valuable hands-on experience, and complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Parks & Gardens.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll develop practical horticultural and landscaping skills while helping maintain and enhance the beautiful parks, gardens, and public spaces across the Yarra Ranges.

About the Role

As a Parks & Gardens Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience in a variety of outdoor maintenance and horticultural activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining parks, gardens, reserves, and community spaces
  • Planting, pruning, mowing, mulching, and general garden maintenance
  • Assisting with landscaping and irrigation projects
  • Identifying and managing weeds, pests, and plant diseases
  • Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely
  • Working alongside experienced team members to keep local green spaces healthy, safe, and welcoming

About You

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working outdoors, and takes pride in their work.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • A genuine interest in horticulture, landscaping, and the environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Enjoyment of practical, hands-on work in an outdoor environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • A reliable, safety-conscious, and hardworking approach
  • A current driver's licence or be working towards obtaining one
