Saffron Indian Cuisine Bathurst is an established Indian restaurant in Bathurst, NSW, offering a diverse selection of Indian cuisine and a welcoming dining experience to local customers, families and visitors.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day operation of the restaurant and lead our team in delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service.

 

The Restaurant Manager will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including staff management, customer service, stock control, purchasing, financial administration and compliance.

The successful applicant will be a confident hospitality professional who can lead a team, coordinate restaurant activities and maintain high standards during both busy and quieter service periods.

Task & responsibilities

Planning and organising the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

Coordinating the activities of the restaurant during preparation, service and closing periods.

Planning staff requirements and preparing work schedules and rosters.

Supervising, coordinating and reviewing the performance of restaurant staff.

Recruiting, training and providing guidance to employees where required.

Allocating duties to staff to ensure adequate coverage during service periods.

Maintaining high standards of customer service and responding appropriately to customer feedback and complaints.

Managing restaurant bookings, reservations, functions and special events.

Coordinating between front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure efficient food and beverage service.

Monitoring the quality and presentation of food and beverages served to customers.

Monitoring stock levels and arranging the purchasing and ordering of food, beverages and other supplies.

Liaising with suppliers and coordinating deliveries to maintain appropriate stock levels.

Controlling operational costs and monitoring expenditure to support efficient restaurant operations.

Monitoring daily sales, cash handling and reconciliation procedures.

Maintaining appropriate operational, financial and staff records.

Monitoring restaurant revenue and identifying opportunities to improve sales and profitability.

Ensuring the restaurant, dining areas and service areas are maintained to appropriate standards.

Ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and other relevant operational requirements.

Developing and implementing procedures to improve efficiency, service quality and customer satisfaction.

Assisting with menu planning and pricing in consultation with the business owners and kitchen team.

Coordinating promotional activities and special offers to support restaurant performance.

Handling operational issues and making appropriate decisions to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

 


Qualification & experience

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Relevant diploma level qualifications in hospitality, restaurant management or a related discipline.

Previous atleast 3 years experience in restaurant or hospitality management.

Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating hospitality staff.

Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service.

Experience preparing staff rosters and allocating workplace duties.

Experience with stock control, purchasing and supplier coordination.

Understanding of restaurant financial administration, sales and cost control.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills.

Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a busy restaurant.

Ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse hospitality team.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

High level of professionalism and attention to detail
