Position: CHEF

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Chef to take responsibility for food preparation, cooking and presentation while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (Chef)

  • Prepare, cook and present breakfast, lunch, dinner and pizza dishes in line with recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare and portion meat, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients for daily kitchen service.
  • Cook a range of menu items including breakfast dishes, mains, salads, sides, pizzas and daily specials.
  • Contribute to menu planning, recipe preparation and development of new dishes and daily specials.
  • Organise daily food preparation and coordinate cooking activities during busy service periods.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, portion sizes and presentation to maintain consistent standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored and handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Manage stock ordering, receive deliveries, rotate stock and minimise food wastage.
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking methods and kitchen procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen while working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.

Skills and Requirements (Chef)

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma of Hospitality Management or a relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
  • Experience working in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • Ability to train and support junior kitchen staff.
  • Reliable and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Cook to assist with food preparation and cooking and support the daily operations of our busy kitchen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (Cook)

  • Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare, portion and season meat, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook pizzas, breakfast items, mains, salads, sides and other menu dishes.
  • Carry out daily food preparation and cooking during busy service periods.
  • Follow recipes, portion sizes and food presentation requirements.
  • Ensure food is prepared, handled and stored safely in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients and prepared food.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
  • Receive deliveries, rotate stock and minimise food wastage.
  • Work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Follow instructions from the Chef and carry out general kitchen duties as required.

Skills and Requirements (Cook)
