Cook – Full Time

The Best Burger Bar (KXOTIC FOODS PTY LTD) is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our team in Sunbury, Victoria. This is a full-time position for an experienced individual who is passionate about preparing and cooking quality food and maintaining high standards within a busy kitchen environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine foodstuffs and ingredients to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation and cooking.

• Regulate and monitor the temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment to ensure food is prepared correctly.

• Prepare and cook a variety of food in accordance with established recipes, standards and customer requirements.

• Season food during cooking to achieve appropriate flavor, quality and consistency.

• Portion food, arrange meals on plates and add gravies, sauces, garnishes and other accompaniments as required.

• Store food and ingredients appropriately in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety requirements.

• Prepare and cook food to accommodate special dietary requirements where required.

• Assist with planning menus and estimating food and ingredient requirements.

• Monitor food supplies and assist in maintaining appropriate stock levels to support kitchen operations.

• Maintain a clean, organized and hygienic kitchen and comply with applicable food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Where required, assist with training and providing guidance to other kitchen staff and apprentices.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have relevant cooking qualifications and/or relevant industry experience appropriate to the position. Applicants should demonstrate sound food preparation and cooking skills, knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices, and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy kitchen team.

The applicant should be reliable, organized and capable of maintaining consistent food quality while working efficiently during busy service periods.
