This permanent position plays a key role in ensuring the quality and precision of finished products, maintaining equipment, and adhering to workplace safety standards.

Task & Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications to determine steel fabrication and installation requirements.
• Selecting, measuring, cutting, and preparing steel reinforcement bars (rebar), mesh, and structural steel components using hand tools, power tools, rebar cutters, benders, grinders, and metal cutting machinery.
• Shaping and bending steel sections and reinforcement to precise dimensions using manual tools, bending machines, and heating techniques.
• Accurately setting out, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement in slabs, columns, beams, and footings in accordance with plans and engineering specifications.
• Using welding, bolting, riveting, and tying techniques to join and secure metal components.
• Working with formwork and concreting teams to coordinate reinforcement installation prior to concrete pours.
• Inspecting and verifying steelwork to ensure compliance with quality standards, tolerances, and safety regulations.
• Cleaning, grinding, and preparing fabricated components for finishing and installation.
• Adhering strictly to workplace safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe handling of equipment and materials.

Qualification & experience

Qualification & Experience

• AQF Cert III or equivalent
• White card
• Current Drivers Licence
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role 
• Have the ability to provide a national police clearance
