About the role
Cranwell Collision has been providing motor vehicle body repair and paintwork to all makes and models for a number of years. With a reputation built on quality and a team of professional body repairers at our Albion workshop, we are now looking for an experienced Mechanic to join us. This is a hands-on trade role for someone who takes pride in their workmanship and is committed to delivering high-quality results on every job.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults in motor vehicles using specialised diagnostic equipment and appropriate testing procedures.
- Inspect, maintain and repair engines, transmissions and associated mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and repair faults involving braking, steering, suspension and other vehicle mechanical systems.
- Perform scheduled vehicle servicing, routine maintenance and preventative repairs to ensure vehicle safety, reliability and performance.
- Undertake mechanical repairs and component replacements arising from vehicle accidents and collision damage, including the inspection and repair of affected mechanical systems.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble mechanical components, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct road tests and operational checks to verify the effectiveness of completed repairs and identify any outstanding mechanical issues.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical defects and safety concerns, documenting findings and recommending necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of mechanical inspections, diagnostic findings, servicing and repair work undertaken.
- Work collaboratively with panel beaters and other workshop personnel to coordinate mechanical repairs and ensure vehicles are returned to safe operating condition
About you
- Relevant automotive trade qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience as a Motor Mechanic, with practical experience in vehicle - diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repairs
- Someone who takes pride in their work and doesn't cut corners when rebuilding or reassembling
- Comfortable with computerised diagnostic tools and able to interpret what they're telling you
- Organised and self-directed, able to move between jobs without losing focus on quality
- Current driver's licence essential
