Industry Analyst

Skippers Transport is seeking a Industry Analyst to review, analyse and improve business processes, operational procedures and administrative systems across its transport and logistics operations.  The successful candidate will analyse existing business processes, develop and implement recommendations for improvement, maintain operational documentation, and support the delivery of efficient and consistent working practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the movement of freight and cargo to support efficient operational delivery, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor operational performance and investigate service delivery issues, delays and recurring operational challenges.
• Develop and recommend improvements to working methods, operational procedures and workflows.
• Review compliance with company procedures and identify deviations from established standards and requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through process analysis, stakeholder consultation and performance monitoring.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports and documentation in accordance with company requirements.
• Identify the root causes of operational issues and develop practical solutions.
• Analyse operational data and prepare reports to support management decision-making.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and customer service.
• Support the implementation of improvements by updating work instructions, procedures and process manuals.
• Identify procedural deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation relating to operational workflows, administrative procedures, process changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills and Competencies

• Experience in a similar role, with direct involvement in operational improvements or business initiatives involving complex processes and systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to analyse operational workflows, administrative systems and organisational procedures.
• Strong written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to identify inefficiencies, inconsistencies and deviations from established procedures.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management and operational teams.
• An understanding of transport, freight or logistics operations would be advantageous.
• Exposure to business processes and workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Engineering, Science, Business Analysis or a related discipline.
• Professional experience in operational excellence and business transformation.
• Experience in customer operations.
• Experience in customer experience.
• Experience with compliance and quality management systems.
