3C Technology is seeking a suitably qualified, technically competent and experienced FULL TIME Computer Network and Systems Engineer to undertake the design, development, configuration, implementation, administration, monitoring, maintenance and continuous improvement of computer networks, server environments, information technology infrastructure and associated systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, scalability and operational efficiency of the company's ICT infrastructure and the network and systems solutions delivered to its business clients, where applicable.

The position requires advanced technical expertise in network engineering, systems architecture, network security, server administration, cloud technologies, infrastructure integration, performance optimisation and technical troubleshooting.

The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will play an important role in supporting 3C Technology's operational requirements, maintaining ICT service continuity, implementing infrastructure improvements and ensuring that computer networks and associated systems operate in accordance with business requirements, applicable industry standards and recognised ICT security practices.

The role involves engineering-level technical responsibilities extending beyond routine computer repairs, basic IT helpdesk services and general technical support.

Task & responsibilities

The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will:

Computer Network Architecture, Design and Engineering

The Computer Network and Systems Engineer will:

Analyse the existing computer network architecture, operational requirements and infrastructure capabilities of 3C Technology and its business clients.

Design and develop reliable, secure, scalable and cost-effective LAN, WAN, WLAN and interconnected network environments.

Prepare technical network designs, architecture diagrams, network topology maps, IP addressing schemes and infrastructure configuration specifications.

Engineer and implement network connectivity solutions involving routers, managed switches, firewalls, wireless access points, gateways and associated communication infrastructure.

Design and configure virtual LANs (VLANs), subnetting structures, routing protocols, network segmentation and traffic management policies.

Evaluate bandwidth utilisation, latency, network congestion, packet loss and other performance indicators to identify and implement network improvements.

Develop secure remote connectivity solutions, including virtual private networks (VPNs), site-to-site connections and remote-access configurations.

Assess network capacity and prepare infrastructure expansion recommendations to accommodate client growth, additional devices and evolving business applications.

Design network redundancy and failover arrangements to improve availability and minimise service interruptions.

Conduct technical testing, commissioning and verification of new or upgraded network infrastructure before production deployment.

Server Infrastructure and Systems Engineering

The position will involve:

Designing, configuring, deploying and administering physical and virtual server environments.

Engineering server infrastructure using suitable Windows Server, Linux and virtualisation technologies according to client requirements.

Configuring directory services, DNS, DHCP, group policies, authentication systems and network resource permissions.

Implementing virtual server infrastructure and managing virtual machines, storage allocation and system resource utilisation.

Evaluating server processing capacity, memory utilisation, storage performance and availability requirements.

Developing and implementing server upgrade, replacement and migration strategies.

Establishing secure server configuration standards and system hardening procedures.

Conducting operating system updates, security patch management and system compatibility testing.

Designing centralised authentication and identity-management configurations.

Maintaining server infrastructure documentation, configuration records and system recovery procedures.

Managed Network and ICT Infrastructure Services

In support of 3C Technology's managed IT service operations, the engineer will:

Engineer and maintain managed network infrastructure for commercial clients operating across Griffith and surrounding regional areas.

Establish proactive monitoring systems to identify infrastructure failures, performance degradation and security vulnerabilities.

Analyse technical alerts and system logs to determine the underlying causes of network and infrastructure issues.

Develop automated monitoring and maintenance procedures to reduce preventable outages.

Configure network management tools and establish appropriate performance thresholds.

Conduct infrastructure health assessments and recommend improvements to reliability, capacity and operational efficiency.

Provide advanced technical escalation support for complex network, server and infrastructure incidents.

Coordinate infrastructure changes to minimise disruption to clients' business operations.

Develop preventive maintenance schedules and technical remediation plans.

Review managed-service infrastructure against agreed client requirements and service performance expectations.

Network Security and Cybersecurity Engineering
