Kids First Children’s Services is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our team of psychologists, OTs, speech pathologists and teachers in Brookvale. This is a full-time role working with children and their families. The role You will support a varied paediatric caseload of NDIS participants and private clients. The role is primarily clinic-based, with some opportunities for in-community work supporting children in schools and preschools. Clinical areas include speech sound disorders, developmental language disorder, developmental delay, literacy, AAC, autism, PDA, Down syndrome, and swallowing difficulties. Key responsibilities * Conducting comprehensive assessments across speech, language, feeding and swallowing * Developing and delivering individualised, evidence-based intervention plans * Setting meaningful goals in partnership with families * Writing assessment reports, NDIS functional capacity and recommendation reports, and clinical notes * Working with teachers to support children’s learning in the classroom * Trialling and implementing AAC systems with families * Collaborating with OTs, psychologists and early intervention teachers on shared cases * Applying a neurodiversity-affirming, family-centred approach Essential requirements * Recognised qualification in Speech Pathology * Eligibility for Certified Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia * Minimum three years’ post-qualification paediatric experience as a speech pathologist * Demonstrated experience assessing and treating children with disabilities and developmental delays * Demonstrated experience supporting children with literacy and learning challenges * Experience in an NDIS private practice setting * Experience working with children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds * Current Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or eligibility to obtain them * Current eligibility to hold a Medicare Provider Number * NSW driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle * Able to commit to a minimum of 18 months in the role About Kids First Kids First Children’s Services is a multidisciplinary paediatric practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Since 2007 we have supported children and families with communication, learning, behaviour and development. Our speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists and early intervention specialist teachers work together onsite every day and come together weekly for multidisciplinary collaboration and learning. Our team grows professionally through case conferences, Speech Pathology team hub meetings, and mentoring from our experienced Speech Pathology team leader. Children make the most progress when they can keep working with the same clinician. For this reason, we ask our speech pathologists to commit to at least 18 months with Kids First.
