Child Care Worker

Nexus Early Learning Ringwood Pty Ltd is looking for a Child Care Worker to support children’s care, learning and development. The successful applicant will work with educators and families to provide a safe, welcoming and engaging environment.
The right applicant will be responsible for:

• Provide attentive care and supervision to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, social, emotional and language development.
• Support children’s daily routines, including meals, toileting, hygiene, rest and transitions between activities.
• Build positive relationships with children and respond sensitively to their individual needs.
• Observe and document children’s participation, interests and development to support educational planning.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and respectful interactions through appropriate guidance.
• Prepare and maintain clean, safe and engaging indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
• Communicate with families about children’s daily experiences, routines and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with educators and the centre leadership team to deliver consistent care.
• Follow centre policies and procedures relating to child safety, hygiene, incident reporting and workplace health and safety.

About you:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Child Care Worker;
• A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care;
• Understanding of children’s developmental needs and age-appropriate learning activities;
• Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills;
• A caring, patient approach and a commitment to children’s safety and wellbeing;
• A valid Working with Children Check and current first aid qualifications appropriate to the role.
