About Your Role
You will be working for a national public sector organisation that provides leadership, policy support, and quality assurance for a highly regulated service sector, collaborating with governments and stakeholders across Australia.
Your role is responsible for monitoring, analysing and responding to cyber security threats, implementing security controls, and supporting compliance with relevant Australian Government standards and frameworks.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Security Operations & Monitoring
- Cloud & Application Security
- Application security testing, developer/vendor collaboration; Azure IaaS + PaaS (Dynamics, Power Platform)
- Cloud Administration: administer, configure, and uplift security baselines across the Microsoft stack
- Own incident response lifecycle – from containment through to reporting
- Risk & Vulnerability Management
- Security Controls & Assurance
- Policy, Awareness & Governance
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a technical cyber security, cloud security, Azure administration, or Microsoft security administration role.
- Working knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards such as the ACSC ISM, Essential Eight, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, and Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark.
- Experience administering and securing Microsoft Azure environments, including Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, conditional access, privileged access, and identity governance.
- Experience with Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Policy, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft 365 security controls.
- Ability to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network environments.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management platforms, cloud security dashboards, and incident response workflows.
- Strong understanding of Azure security principles, including secure configuration, least privilege, logging, monitoring, network security groups, private endpoints, key management, and secure access controls.
