Service Manager | Operations, Leadership & Technical Strategy

About the Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a proven, forward-thinking Service Supervisor to take operational ownership of a high-performing Service Department.
If you thrive on leading teams, driving operational efficiency, and delivering high-level client outcomes across reactive, preventative, and minor project works, this is the strategic yet hands-on leadership role you've been looking for.
Written from an agency perspective, we are searching for a true operational leader—someone who balances people management, service delivery, and financial performance with ease.

Key Responsibilities

  • Departmental Leadership: Lead, mentor, and foster a safety-first, high-performance culture across field technicians, coordinators, subcontractors, and admin teams.
  • Service Delivery & Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations across reactive service, preventative maintenance, warranty repairs, and system upgrades to meet SLAs and KPIs.
  • Scheduling & Resource Planning: Drive technician utilization, optimize workload balance, and manage after-hours coverage and site allocations.
  • Quotations & Estimating: Scope works, prepare competitive quotations, conduct site assessments, and support key tender submissions.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key escalation point, build strong client relationships, and identify lifecycle upgrade opportunities.
  • P&L & Administration: Ensure swift, accurate job invoicing, oversee stock/asset management, and drive cost-effective, profitable service outcomes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Australian Standards, WHS compliance, SWMS documentation, and trade licensing.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Service supervisor, Operations Manager, or Senior Service Coordinator within technical, mechanical, or industrial service sectors.
  • Strong leadership capability with a background in managing field-based technicians and office personnel.
  • Solid commercial acumen with experience in job costing, estimating, scope preparation, and operational scheduling systems (CRM/ERP).
  • Exceptional communication skills with a track record of building trusted relationships with corporate clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • A deep commitment to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and high-quality compliance standards.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive Package: salary + superannuation + company benefits.
  • Autonomy & Impact: Take ownership of a key business unit and drive meaningful operational improvements.
  • Career Growth: Join a stable, growing business that invests in its leadership team and long-term development.
