About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Advisor to join Melbourne Water on a temporary basis, supporting a number of high-profile infrastructure projects.

This is a busy environment where you will work closely with project teams, engineers and internal stakeholders to deliver clear, timely and effective community engagement and communications across multiple projects.

The role will suit someone who is confident working in a complex infrastructure environment, can quickly understand project requirements and is comfortable managing competing priorities and critical project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver community engagement and communications activities across multiple infrastructure projects.
• Work closely with project teams, engineers and internal stakeholders to understand project impacts, timelines and key milestones.
• Develop and coordinate clear communications for communities and stakeholders affected by project works.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring engagement activities are delivered within critical timeframes.
• Provide practical communications and engagement advice to project teams.
• Identify stakeholder and community issues and support appropriate responses.
• Coordinate engagement activities and maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions and commitments.

About You

You will be an experienced community engagement and communications professional with:

• Experience delivering community engagement and communications across infrastructure or major projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across community, project and technical teams.
• Experience communicating project impacts, changes and key information clearly to stakeholders.
• The ability to understand complex project information and make it easy for the community to understand.
• Strong written communication skills across stakeholder and community communications.
• Experience working with project managers, engineers and technical teams.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
