About our Client

Our client is a leading organisation within the retail sector, renowned for its commitment to quality care, innovation, and employee wellbeing. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while supporting employees across the business. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the fortnightly payroll process within a collaborative team environment.
  • Processing new starter, employee change, and termination documentation.
  • Responding to payroll-related queries and providing exceptional internal customer service.
  • Managing salary increases and assisting with month-end and year-end payroll activities.
  • Maintaining employee records and payroll documentation.
  • Preparing new employee files and onboarding packs.
  • Collecting and processing police checks, including reimbursement administration.
  • Supporting the wider payroll team with general administrative duties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous payroll experience, ideally within a medium to large-scale payroll environment.
  • Experience using a high-volume payroll system.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and willingness to support colleagues.
