Qualified Fitters

Our client is seeking several Qualified Fitters for immediate starts with a well-established marine engineering business. This temporary role involves the overhaul, repair and installation of propulsion systems, engines, pumps, shafts and associated mechanical equipment on commercial vessels.

What you'll be doing:

• Carrying out mechanical repairs, maintenance and installations
• Overhauling engines, pumps, shafts and rotating equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and interpreting engineering drawings
• Completing planned maintenance and equipment testing
• Following safety procedures and quality standards

What you'll need:

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
• Previous marine experience preferred
• Minimum 12–18 months' relevant experience
• Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Experience with hydraulic systems (advantageous)
• Welding skills (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Full working rights in Australia
