Role Details

We are seeking a Upper Primary Years Teacher:

Criteria

  • Actively support and contribute to the Catholic Identity and Mercy values of McAuley Community School.
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of evidence-informed learning theories and pedagogies, particularly Explicit Instruction.
  • Show proven experience in using assessment and data to inform planning, with highly developed skills in designing learning programs that meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Draw on expertise in inclusive education pedagogies and practices to create a supportive and accessible learning environment for every learner.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Positive Education and its role in supporting student wellbeing and fostering a flourishing school community.
  • Possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to build positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, ESOs, students, parents, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our teaching team at McAuley Community School, you will:

  • Foster a love of learning through an engaging, inclusive, and faith-centred classroom environment.
  • Establish routines and structures that create a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning culture for all students.
  • Implement evidence-based teaching strategies to support both academic growth and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a dynamic professional learning community.
  • Build strong, respectful partnerships with students, families, and staff to nurture each child’s growth in faith, learning, and wellbeing.
