DIDO - Lifeguard

DIDO Lifeguard (Australian Qualified) required for a DIDO role in a remote town in Far North, South Australia

Hays Recruitment are working with a long-term client to source skilled and reliable lifeguards to join their team in Woomera, South Australia.

The role exists to ensure superior customer service is provided during swimming pool opening hours with a focus on swimmer safety and cleanliness. This is an opportunity to use your lifeguarding expertise in a rewarding DIDO role with excellent pay, roster, and plenty of hours.

• Starts available early October (season running through to April 2027)
• 14:7 roster (14 days on, 7 days off)
• Meals and accommodation provided
• Weekly pay with an excellent hourly rate + penalties on public holidays.
• Work in a large on-site team in a unique remote location

Woomera is a small, remote town in South Australia, approximately 450 km north of Adelaide (about a 5-hour drive). The town is historically known for its defence and aerospace operations, and it also supports the mining and resource industries. With a population of just over 1,000 people, Woomera has a tight-knit community feel, offering a unique lifestyle for remote workers. Despite its remoteness, the town provides essential services, recreational facilities, and a supportive environment for workers living on-site. This role offers a chance to experience life in one of Australia’s most distinctive outback communities while gaining valuable remote experience.  

What You’ll Do

• General pool management and administration
• Supervise swimmers and maintain a safe pool environment at all times
• Enforce pool rules while creating a positive experience for all patrons
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies
• Carry out routine pool checks and maintain water quality standards
• Provide excellent customer service and support to all visitors

Mandatory Requirements

• State recognised qualification in Pool Lifeguarding
• HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
• HLTAID009 – Provide CPR (renewed annually)
• Working With Children Check & National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Strong communication, observation, and customer service skills
