Support young people, local artists and community members to build music skills, confidence and positive pathways through culturally safe music programs. Duties include:
Mentoring young people and local artists in songwriting, recording and performance.
Running music workshops and studio sessions.
Supporting recording, music production and safe use of studio equipment.
Delivering music activities that support youth diversion and positive community engagement.
Working with young people at risk of disengagement or involvement with the justice system.
Supporting school students, NDIS participants and community members through music programs.
Helping with community performances, events and showcases.
Supporting pathways into training, employment and the creative industries.
Working with schools, Elders, artists, community organisations and industry partners.
Helping keep the music studio safe, clean, organised and welcoming.
Requirements
Passion for music, mentoring and working with the community.
Experience working with young people, community programs or creative arts activities.
Basic music production, recording or audio equipment skills, or willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and ability to work respectfully with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Reliable, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and workplace safety.
Current Ochre Card, or willingness to obtain one.
Experience in songwriting, recording, live performance or audio engineering is desirable.
Knowledge of youth diversion or community development is desirable.
Current Driver’s Licence is desirable.
This position does not come with housing.
