Your new role



As a Cyber Security Advisor, you will provide expert security guidance and cyber risk assessments across technology projects, business initiatives, systems, and services.
Working closely with project teams, technical stakeholders, and business leaders, you will support secure solution delivery by identifying cyber risks, recommending appropriate security controls, and ensuring security requirements are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting cyber security risk assessments and assurance reviews.
  • Providing practical, risk-based security advice to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Supporting secure solution design and implementation across projects and initiatives.
  • Reviewing applications, infrastructure, cloud services, and business processes to identify security risks.
  • Advising on security control improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting cyber security governance activities, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assisting with cyber security awareness and training initiatives.
  • Engaging with vendors, service providers, and project teams to support security assurance activities.


What you'll need to succeed



To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in Cyber Security Advisory, Security Governance, Risk, Compliance, or Assurance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks and methodologies, including ASD Essential Eight, ISM, NIST, and ISO 27001/27002.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments and providing security recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security controls, assurance practices, and secure design principles.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or securing Microsoft Azure and Entra ID environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to translate technical security concepts into business-focused advice.
  • Experience reviewing applications, systems, infrastructure, and cloud services from a security perspective.

Desirable:

  • CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification.
  • Operational Technology (OT) security exposure.
  • Experience within government, regulated, or large enterprise environments.
