VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher / Kindergarten Teacher to join our client’s business Montessori Works Beach Babies in Maroubra. Summery: The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate educational programs that support the learning, development and wellbeing of young children. The role will involve creating safe, inclusive and engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments and providing educational experiences that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, emotional and language development. Where applicable, the successful applicant will incorporate Montessori principles and practices into the learning environment, encouraging independence, confidence, curiosity and self-directed learning. Key Duties: - Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate educational programs and learning experiences for young children. - Structuring learning activities in both indoor and outdoor environments using a variety of materials, resources and equipment. - Providing educational experiences designed to develop children's motor skills, social skills, confidence, independence and understanding. - Promoting language and communication development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, discussions and individual and group activities. - Observing and assessing children to evaluate their developmental and educational progress. - Identifying signs of ill health, emotional concerns, developmental issues or additional needs and responding appropriately. - Monitoring children's nutritional, health, welfare and safety needs and identifying factors that may affect their development and educational progress. - Maintaining accurate observations, assessments and records relating to children's learning, development and progress. - Discussing children's development, learning outcomes and progress with parents and guardians and providing appropriate feedback. - Attending and participating in parent interviews, staff meetings, committee meetings and other relevant professional discussions. - Developing positive and collaborative relationships with children, families, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders. - Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes children's wellbeing and participation. - Applying early childhood education principles and, where relevant, Montessori teaching practices to support children's independence, confidence and development. - Participating in community and family support programs where appropriate. - Working collaboratively with other educators and relevant stakeholders to support positive learning outcomes. - Ensuring educational activities and practices comply with organisational policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements. - Supervising, guiding and supporting student teachers undertaking professional placements, where required. Skills and Experience: - Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, as applicable to the position. - Previous experience working with young children in an early childhood, childcare or educational setting. - Strong understanding of early childhood development, learning principles and age-appropriate educational practices. - Understanding of Montessori philosophy and its application within an early childhood learning environment. - Montessori training or previous experience working within a Montessori educational environment is highly desirable. - Demonstrated patience, empathy and commitment to supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing. - Ability to plan and deliver engaging educational activities that respond to children's individual learning and developmental needs. - Ability to observe, assess and accurately document children's learning, behaviour and developmental progress. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues and other stakeholders. - Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain the required certification. - Ability to satisfy applicable background screening, Working with Children requirements and other relevant regulatory or licensing requirements. Salary: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 plus superannuation.
