VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Painter to join our client Buildpro Solutions Pty Ltd based in Noble Park North. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual who can work well both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality workmanship. Summary: Reporting to the supervisor or project manager, the Painter will work as part of a team to ensure all painting and surface finishing work is completed in a timely, safe, and professional manner while maintaining high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare interior and exterior surfaces through sanding, cleaning, filling, scraping, patching, and sealing to ensure high-quality paint adhesion and finish. - Apply paints, coatings, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment in accordance with project specifications. - Mix and match paints to achieve the required colours, textures, and finishes. - Remove old paint, wallpaper, and other surface coverings where required. - Assist with specialised painting and surface finishing work as required. - Erect and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment while complying with workplace health and safety requirements. - Protect client property by covering furniture, floors, fixtures, and surrounding surfaces prior to commencing painting activities. - Maintain and clean painting tools, spray equipment, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation. - Inspect completed painting work to ensure finishes meet company and industry quality standards. - Estimate material requirements and report any shortages, defects, or additional requirements to the supervisor. - Maintain a clean, organised, and safe worksite, including the proper storage and handling of paints, chemicals, and hazardous materials. - Collaborate with team members to complete painting projects within required deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service. - Follow workplace safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Assist in training and supporting junior staff or apprentices when required. Performance Appraisal : Three months after the starting date, then yearly or when required. Qualifications & Requirements - Have a relevant qualification in Painting and Decorating or a related trade. - Demonstrated experience in residential, commercial, or other relevant painting environments. - Ability to use painting tools, spray equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely and effectively. - Knowledge of different paint types, coatings, finishes, and surface preparation techniques. - Ability to prepare and finish a variety of interior and exterior surfaces. - Ability to safely handle paints, solvents, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. - Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour for extended periods. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. - Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. - Ability to follow instructions, project specifications, and workplace procedures.
