Retail Manager

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to join our client's business Chaudhary Brothers (NSW) Pty Ltd in Mannum. About the Role Reporting to the Owner, the successful applicant will manage the day-to-day retail operations of the business, ensuring effective sales performance, customer service, inventory management, staffing and financial outcomes. The role will oversee the convenience store's product range, supplier relationships, promotional activities, staff performance and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities - Oversee the day-to-day retail operations, including store sales, product availability, inventory requirements and customer service standards - Develop and execute procurement strategies, coordinate with suppliers, establish competitive pricing and maintain appropriate product availability - Plan and manage promotional activities and local marketing initiatives to increase customer traffic, strengthen sales performance and improve profitability - Assist customers with purchases, respond to enquiries and provide information about products and other available services - Monitor inventory movements, coordinate stock replenishment, minimise wastage and maintain accurate sales and financial records - Prepare and manage operational budgets, monitor expenditure and review financial performance against business targets - Monitor sales performance and reporting to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring improvement - Manage recruitment, staff rostering, induction, training and performance supervision to maintain an efficient team - Allocate duties to staff and monitor work performance to ensure appropriate staffing across trading hours - Maintain customer service standards and address customer enquiries and operational issues in a timely and professional manner - Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe fuel-handling procedures, emergency protocols and applicable regulations - Review retail operations and identify opportunities to improve customer service, product availability, sales performance and operational efficiency - Maintain accurate inventory, sales, financial and operational records - Liaise with suppliers and other relevant stakeholders to support the efficient operation of the business Minimum Requirements - Relevant qualification is preferred - Experience managing a retail store, service station or comparable customer-facing operation - Demonstrated ability to lead a team and organise staffing across trading hours - Experience with stock management, suppliers, pricing, budgets, sales reporting and retail promotions - Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills - Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage day-to-day operational matters - Strong customer service focus and ability to respond professionally to customer enquiries and concerns - Ability to manage inventory, stock replenishment and product availability effectively - Ability to monitor expenditure and review financial performance against business targets - Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements relevant to a service station - Ability to maintain safe operating practices in a fuel station environment - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational and financial records Hours: Full-time, minimum 38 hours per week, with reasonable additional and flexible hours where required by business operations. Salary: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 plus superannuation.
