Production Manager (Mining) Location: Karratha, Western Australia Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $70,000-$90,000 AUD per annum + superannuation About the Opportunity Our client, NORWEST, is a growing Civil Construction & Logistics Company based in the Karratha and Wickham area of Western Australia. They are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager (Mining) to join their growing team. About the Role As a Production Manager (Mining), you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing production activities, personnel, plant and equipment to ensure operations are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company and site requirements. Key responsibilities include: Plan, coordinate and oversee daily production and operational activities Supervise and coordinate production personnel, operators and other team members Monitor production schedules, targets and operational requirements Coordinate the efficient use of plant, equipment, materials and labour Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency Ensure production activities are carried out safely and in accordance with workplace procedures Conduct regular inspections of work areas, plant and equipment Identify and report operational issues, equipment faults and maintenance requirements Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimise equipment downtime Ensure production records, reports, timesheets and other documentation are completed accurately Monitor the quality and quantity of production outputs Assist with workforce planning, scheduling and allocation of duties Liaise with supervisors, contractors, customers and other stakeholders as required Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and site procedures Support the implementation of operational policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives Provide guidance and support to production staff Assist with resolving operational issues and production delays Perform overtime when required to meet operational requirements Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have: Relevant qualification in Mining, Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management or a related field Previous experience in production management, preferably within mining, civil construction or heavy industry Demonstrated experience supervising production teams and coordinating daily operations Strong understanding of mining, production and workplace safety requirements Experience coordinating plant, equipment, labour and production schedules Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to monitor production performance and achieve operational targets Good understanding of maintenance requirements and equipment utilisation Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to prepare and maintain accurate operational reports and documentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with supervisors, operators, contractors and management Ability to work independently and take responsibility for operational outcomes Reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude Flexibility and availability to perform overtime when required Essential Requirements Relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in production or operations management Demonstrated experience managing production activities within mining, civil construction or a related industry Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating operational teams Ability to meet workplace and site safety requirements Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical Ability to successfully complete a drug and alcohol screen Two contactable employment referees
