BHAC is looking for Financial Capability Assistants to support the Money Management team and help community members with everyday money matters.
You will work alongside experienced staff and receive guidance and support in the role.
You will:
• Help prepare for client appointments
• Help clients gather identification and other documents
• Assist clients to access their accounts and personal information
• Support clients with budgeting and basic money management
• Help clients understand their financial situation and goals
• Assist with Money Management workshops and community activities
• Help promote Money Management services in Maningrida and Homelands
• Enter information and keep client records up to date
• Help connect clients with other services when needed
• Attend training to build your money management and financial literacy skills
• Keep client information private and confidential
Essential:
• This is an Aboriginal identified position
• Experience living or working in a remote Aboriginal community
• Good understanding of Aboriginal culture and community protocols
• Ability to build positive relationships with community members
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Basic understanding of money management
• Ability to organise your work and follow instructions
• Basic office and administration skills
• Basic computer skills, including email, Word and Excel
• Willingness to learn and complete required training
• Willingness to travel for training when required
• Current NT Driver Licence or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to keep client information private and confidential
Desirable:
• Experience working for a community organisation or not-for-profit organisation
This position does not come with housing.
