Are you passionate about supporting employees through injury recovery, return to work planning, and workplace wellbeing initiatives? We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation & Return to Work Consultant to join a large, complex organisation on contract basis, helping employees safely and sustainably return to meaningful work.

Working within a collaborative health and rehabilitation team, you will manage a varied caseload of employees experiencing work-related injuries, illnesses and non-work-related health conditions. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact by partnering with workers, leaders, healthcare providers and key stakeholders to deliver effective injury management outcomes.



Your new role

Reporting to a supportive team environment, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing rehabilitation and return to work cases from initial notification through to successful outcomes
  • Developing and implementing tailored return to work and injury management plans
  • Liaising with employees, medical practitioners, treatment providers and workplace stakeholders
  • Monitoring recovery progress and identifying barriers to return to work
  • Providing advice and guidance on injury management best practice and legislative requirements
  • Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
  • Supporting positive wellbeing, recovery and workplace participation outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A qualification in Allied Health, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Nursing, Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology or a related discipline
  • Experience in rehabilitation, injury management, return to work coordination, workers' compensation, occupational rehabilitation or case management
  • Sound knowledge of Queensland workers' compensation and return to work frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple cases
  • Well-developed computer literacy and case management system experience
