Position – System Administrator
Location - GP Care Eaglehawk, Bendigo VIC 3550.
Salary - $85000- $100,000
About the role
Reporting to the Director , you will be responsible for the design, security, maintenance and performance of our IT systems, including clinical and practice management software, patient data systems, servers, workstations and communications infrastructure across our clinics.
Key responsibilities
Design and maintain database architecture, data structures, tables, dictionaries and naming conventions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data master files, including patient and practice management records
Establish and carry out preventive maintenance of backups and recovery procedures, and enforce security and integrity controls over sensitive health information
Implement and administer database documentation, guidelines, policies and procedures
Test database systems and upgrades, including debugging, tracking, reproducing, logging and resolving all identified problems in line with approved quality testing scripts, procedures and processes
Take responsibility for the processes, procedures and operational management of system security and disaster recovery planning, so that clinical services can continue during outages
Liaise with security vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources; analyse, recommend, install and maintain software security applications; and monitor contractual obligations, performance delivery and service level agreements
Troubleshoot and provide service support in diagnosing, resolving and repairing server-related hardware and software faults, including workstations and communications infrastructure
Prepare and maintain documentation, policies and instructions, and record operational procedures and system logs
Ensure the design of computer sites allows all components to fit together and work properly, and monitor and adjust network performance
Regularly review the current computer site to identify future network needs and recommend enhancements for future servers and networks
About you
Essential:
Bachelor degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or at least five years of relevant experience in place of formal qualifications
Demonstrated experience administering databases, servers and networks in a production environment
Sound knowledge of backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory / Microsoft 365, and SQL-based databases
Experience in network configuration, firewalls, endpoint security and performance monitoring
Strong documentation skills and the ability to write clear policies and procedures
Experience managing vendors and service level agreements
Clear communication with non-technical staff, including clinicians and reception teams
