Hiring! Our client, Wood Doctor Construction Pty Ltd, is a Victorian carpentry and construction business providing a range of carpentry services, including decking, pergolas and carports, verandahs, patios and outdoor structures, joinery and related carpentry works. As part of its ongoing operations, the business is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will undertake carpentry work across the business's projects, including the construction, installation, renovation and repair of timber structures and fixtures. • Position: Carpenter • Salary: $80,000 plus Superannuation • Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications to determine carpentry requirements, dimensions and installation procedures. • Select appropriate timber and other construction materials required for individual projects. • Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other materials accurately in accordance with project specifications. • Construct, assemble, erect and install timber structures, frameworks, fixtures and related components. • Construct and install decks, pergolas, verandahs, patios, carports and other outdoor timber structures. • Cut, form and fit timber joints and components to achieve accurate and secure construction. • Install and fit timber fixtures and other carpentry components as required for individual projects. • Undertake renovation, maintenance and repair of existing timber structures and fixtures. • Inspect completed carpentry work to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, stability and quality of workmanship. • Operate carpentry hand tools, power tools and associated equipment safely and effectively. • Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members to complete projects efficiently and to the required standard. • Follow workplace health and safety requirements and established site procedures. Required Skills and Experience: • Relevant trade qualification in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant qualification. • Minimum 1 year of relevant carpentry experience. • Demonstrated practical experience in carpentry, construction, installation and repair work. • Experience working with timber structures such as decking, pergolas, verandahs and other outdoor structures is highly regarded. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications. • Competence in measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and installing timber components. • Ability to safely operate relevant carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. • Good communication, organisational and time-management skills.
