Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) Australia is a leading manufacturer and provider of innovative cooling and heat-rejection solutions for commercial, industrial, HVAC and refrigeration applications. Based in Somersby on the NSW Central Coast, BAC Australia locally designs, manufactures and services a broad range of products, including open and closed-circuit cooling towers, evaporative condensers, hybrid wet/dry and adiabatic coolers, ice thermal storage systems and immersion cooling solutions. To be considered for the role, you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
-Plan and design mechanical equipment, components and systems associated with cooling towers, evaporative condensers and other heat-rejection equipment.
-Prepare and review engineering drawings, technical specifications and equipment layouts for the manufacture, assembly, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
-Determine appropriate materials, components, piping arrangements, equipment capacities and system configurations based on project and operational requirements.
-Review manufacturing workflows and work methods to assess labour and resource requirements and support efficient production and assembly processes.
-Analyse workforce and equipment utilisation, facility layouts, production schedules, operational data and costs to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
-Perform engineering calculations and analyse equipment performance to assess system capacity, reliability, energy efficiency and operating requirements.
-Plan and oversee the manufacture, assembly, installation, commissioning and operation of mechanical equipment and systems.
-Coordinate project labour, materials, plant and equipment required for manufacturing, installation, commissioning and equipment upgrade activities.
-Establish engineering procedures for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance in accordance with engineering and safety requirements.
-Conduct inspections and performance assessments to ensure mechanical equipment operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with design requirements.
-Investigate mechanical faults and performance issues and develop appropriate engineering modifications, improvements and equipment upgrades.
-Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance requirements and provide technical engineering guidance to production personnel and technicians.
-Provide technical engineering guidance to technicians and operational personnel involved in equipment assembly, installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance.
YOU MUST BE.
-Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, piping and engineering principles.
-Experience within the refrigeration, air-conditioning, HVAC or related mechanical services industry will be highly regarded.
-Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving and project coordination skills.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
