2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice - Growing Electrification Team

MEGT has an exciting opportunity with a growing Melbourne-based business specialising in electrification and hot water solutions.

This is a great opportunity to join an established team, work alongside experienced tradespeople and gain valuable experience in a growing area of the electrical industry.

About the role

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced electricians and plumbing apprentices on a range of electrification and hot water installation projects across Melbourne.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Installing external power points for hot water systems
• Installing dedicated circuits and circuit breakers
• Running and connecting electrical cables to hot water systems
• Installing new RCBOs within main switchboards
• Connecting sensor cables to new hot water systems
• Assisting with electrical installations and associated works
• Working alongside plumbing apprentices and experienced tradespeople
• Using hand and power tools safely and correctly
• Following safe work practices and maintaining a high standard of workmanship

You'll start your day at the office before heading out to job sites with the team. Jobs are scheduled with location in mind to help minimise unnecessary travel, with work across Melbourne and surrounding areas.

What we're looking for

We're ideally looking for a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice who:

• Is currently completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• Has previous hands-on electrical experience
• Is motivated to continue developing their trade skills
• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
• Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Is comfortable with physical and manual work
• Works well as part of a team
• Is willing to travel to different job sites across Melbourne
• Holds a White Card or is willing to obtain one
• Has a driver's licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)

You will generally travel with the team to job sites.

A vehicle is preferred due to the locations of the work. The business currently has a company vehicle and plans to expand its vehicle availability as the team grows.
