STORE MANAGER – FULL TIME Location: Virginia, QLD 4014 Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 38 hours per week Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per annum + superannuation Industry: Fuel & Convenience Retail Position: Store Manager / Retail Manager About the Business We are a busy 24-hour fuel and convenience retail store located in Virginia, Queensland, providing customers with fuel, convenience products, ready-to-eat food, snacks, beverages, freshly prepared coffee, Slurpee and other everyday essentials. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day retail operations of the store and lead a team in delivering efficient operations, excellent customer service and strong business performance. About the Role The Store Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the retail store, supervising staff, maintaining stock levels, monitoring sales and financial performance, coordinating suppliers and ensuring the store operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with business and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Manage the day-to-day operations of the busy fuel and convenience retail store. • Plan and coordinate daily store activities to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. • Supervise, lead and support store employees across different shifts. • Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements. • Assist with the recruitment, induction, training and performance management of staff. • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, customer service and compliance with store procedures. • Maintain appropriate stock levels across fuel, beverages, snacks, grocery items, fresh food and other convenience products. • Monitor stock deliveries, check quantities and quality of goods received and ensure products are correctly stored and displayed. • Conduct and oversee regular stocktakes and investigate stock discrepancies, wastage and losses. • Coordinate ordering and replenishment of products based on sales and stock requirements. • Liaise with suppliers and delivery representatives regarding product availability, pricing and delivery requirements. • Monitor retail prices, promotional offers and product displays in accordance with business requirements. • Monitor daily sales and assist with analysing sales performance and identifying opportunities to improve store revenue. • Maintain accurate records relating to sales, stock, cash handling and other financial transactions. • Monitor cash registers, daily cash reconciliation and banking procedures. • Ensure fuel sales and associated store transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are investigated. • Implement and maintain merchandising, promotional and marketing activities within the store. • Ensure coffee, Slurpee, food and other ready-to-consume product areas are appropriately stocked, clean and maintained. • Monitor food presentation, product quality, expiry dates and appropriate rotation of perishable products. • Ensure the store, customer areas, fuel forecourt and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and presentable condition. • Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Monitor customer service standards and encourage staff to provide friendly, efficient and consistent service. • Ensure employees follow workplace health and safety procedures and relevant operational policies. • Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable food safety, workplace health and safety, environmental and fuel-retail requirements. • Identify operational issues and take appropriate action to minimise disruption to store operations. • Monitor security, loss prevention, shoplifting and stock-loss risks and report incidents where required. • Prepare operational reports and provide relevant information to business owners/management regarding sales, staffing, stock and store performance. • Implement business policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Assist management with budgeting, cost control and achieving store performance targets. • Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, employees and other business stakeholders. • Perform other reasonable management and operational duties necessary for the effective running of the store. Skills and Experience The successful applicant will ideally have: • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications • Demonstrated experience in managing a busy retail, convenience store, supermarket, service station or similar high-volume retail environment. • Experience supervising and coordinating a team of employees. • Experience with staff rostering, training and performance management. • Strong knowledge of retail stock management, ordering, merchandising and inventory control. • Experience with cash handling, reconciliation and retail financial records. • Ability to monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve store operations. • Strong customer service and complaint-resolution skills. • Good understanding of workplace health and safety and retail compliance requirements. • Strong organisational and time-management skills. • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24-hour convenience retail environment.
