We currently employ a small dynamic team of experienced landscape professionals, who are committed to our positive culture based around commitment, adaptability, relationships and excellence (CARE). Due to continued operational requirements, we are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in South Perth, Western Australia. About the Role The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and cost plans for landscape construction projects from initial tender review through to tender submission and settlement. Working closely with the construction, estimating and project teams, the successful candidate will assess project documentation, determine labour, material, plant and subcontractor requirements, obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing, and prepare detailed tender submissions. Key Responsibilities The Construction Estimator will be responsible for: -Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation to determine project requirements. - Preparing detailed estimates and cost plans for commercial landscape construction projects. - Calculating anticipated labour, materials, plant, equipment, subcontractor and other project costs. - Undertaking quantity take-offs and preparing detailed bills of quantities and costing schedules. - Obtaining and assessing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. - Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors regarding pricing, availability and scope. - Conducting site visits where required to assess site conditions and tender requirements. - Identifying tender risks, exclusions, qualifications and opportunities. - Liaising with clients, landscape architects, consultants, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify tender and project requirements. - Preparing and reviewing tender submissions to ensure accuracy, competitiveness and compliance with tender requirements. - Assisting with tender negotiations, clarifications and settlement. - Maintaining accurate estimating records, supplier pricing and historical project cost information. -Providing estimating and cost information to construction and project teams during project handover Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, applicants should have: - A relevant qualification in construction, estimating, quantity surveying, landscape construction or a related discipline; or - At least three years of relevant experience in construction estimating or a closely related role. - Demonstrated experience preparing estimates and tenders within the construction industry. - Experience interpreting construction drawings, plans, specifications and tender documentation. - Strong knowledge of construction materials, labour, plant and subcontractor costing. - Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills. - High level of accuracy and attention to detail. - Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing tender deadlines. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to liaise professionally with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams. - Competency using Microsoft Office and relevant estimating or construction software. Experience within commercial landscape construction, civil construction, or a related construction environment will be highly regarded.
