Our client, Kingsley Auto Care, is a family-owned, independent automotive service and repair workshop based in Kingsley, Western Australia, serving Kingsley and surrounding Perth suburbs. The business operates as a Repco Authorised Service Centre, giving them access to Repco’s technical training, service information and nationwide warranty support. The workshop services all makes and models, including light vehicles, 4WDs, diesel vehicles, hybrids and electric vehicles. Their services include logbook servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, brakes and clutches, suspension and steering, air conditioning, auto electrical work, diesel repairs, engine reconditioning and vehicle inspections. The business is seeking a Motor Mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing and testing a broad range of light vehicles. The annual salary for this full-time position is $75,000 to $85,000. Duties include: • Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults in passenger vehicles, 4WDs, diesel vehicles and other light motor vehicles using diagnostic equipment and systematic testing procedures. • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including inspections, lubrication, fluid replacement, filter replacement and general vehicle checks. • Inspect, repair and replace engines and engine components, including cooling, fuel, ignition and emission-related systems to restore vehicle performance and reliability. • Repair and maintain braking systems, including brake pads, discs, drums, callipers, hydraulic components and associated safety systems. • Inspect and repair steering and suspension systems, including shock absorbers, springs, steering components, wheel bearings and related suspension parts. • Remove, inspect, repair and replace clutch and transmission components, including manual and automatic drivetrain systems where required. • Carry out electrical and electronic diagnostic work, including testing batteries, charging systems, starting systems, sensors, wiring and vehicle control systems. • Use specialised automotive diagnostic tools and workshop equipment to identify faults, verify repairs and ensure vehicles meet required operating and safety standards. • Conduct post-repair testing and road tests to confirm that mechanical repairs, servicing and diagnostic work have been completed correctly and that vehicles operate safely. • Interpret vehicle manufacturer specifications, service information and technical documentation when undertaking repairs, servicing and component replacement across different makes and models. • Maintain accurate service and repair records, document diagnostic findings and parts used, and communicate identified faults and completed repairs to workshop management and customers. • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment, following workplace health and safety procedures, correctly using tools and equipment, and supporting the efficient operation of Kingsley Auto Care. Qualifications: • Must have at least one (1) year of experience. • Should hold a Certificate III in a relevant field.
