Position: Engineering Technologist Type: Full-time, permanent (38 hours per week) Employer: Raystech Group Pty Ltd Location: Unit 2, 22 Ashover Road, Rocklea QLD 4106 Salary: $110,000 per annum plus superannuation About the Business Raystech Group Pty Ltd is a national Australian distributor of solar photovoltaic and energy storage products and solutions. It supplies solar panels, inverters, battery energy storage systems and related products to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The business has operated since 2018 from its headquarters in Rocklea, Queensland. It works closely with major solar and energy storage manufacturers and supports its customers through product distribution, supply coordination, inventory management and associated commercial services across multiple Australian states and territories. Dedicated sales, warehousing, purchasing, accounting, marketing and administrative teams support this national operation. The business values technical rigour, reliable supply and practical collaboration with installers, suppliers and project partners as Australia's transition to distributed renewable energy accelerates. About the Position Raystech Group is seeking an experienced Engineering Technologist to join its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) engineering function, reporting to the C&I Engineering Manager. This is a newly created role. It is responsible for adapting, testing, validating and supporting the integration of commercial and industrial photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems, so that inverters, batteries, communication networks and energy-monitoring platforms work together reliably on each project. The Engineering Technologist works between the internal engineering team, installation contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to resolve system-integration issues. They produce the formal engineering documentation that underpins commissioning and project acceptance, and they assess new hardware before it enters the company's product range. The position is therefore central to the quality and reliability of Raystech's C&I project offering. Key Responsibilities Analyse and adapt engineering technical solutions for commercial and industrial photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems to meet project-specific requirements. Conduct system-level technical testing and performance validation of distributed renewable-energy installations, including their communication networks and energy-monitoring platforms. Provide commissioning support for C&I photovoltaic and battery energy storage projects. Diagnose hardware–software interface faults, communication time-outs, parameter mismatches and data-synchronisation issues, and develop practical technical rectification solutions. Undertake technical reviews of system schematics, network configurations and project implementation arrangements. Prepare engineering documentation, including test protocols, commissioning checklists, fault-investigation reports, operation and maintenance documentation and project acceptance deliverables. Support engineering quality assurance and technical verification activities across C&I projects. Assess new renewable-energy hardware for compatibility with existing monitoring, communication and control architectures. Coordinate with internal engineering teams, installation contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to resolve system-integration issues and support successful project implementation. Requirements Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply. Australian-recognised Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent internationally awarded accredited engineering undergraduate qualification. A minimum of five years of demonstrable engineering technology experience involving distributed multi-system integration, engineering-level system testing, technical troubleshooting of complex multi-system interfaces and formal engineering documentation. Demonstrated technical understanding of complex network-connected engineering systems. Knowledge or experience relating to grid-connected inverters, battery energy storage systems, battery management systems and energy-monitoring platforms will be highly regarded. Familiarity with, or the ability to rapidly develop working knowledge of, relevant Australian Standards applicable to grid-connected inverter and battery installations, including AS/NZS 4777 and AS/NZS 5139. Ability to read and critically review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and network configuration documents. Proven ability to write clear, structured engineering documentation, including test protocols, commissioning records and fault-investigation reports. Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to isolating faults across hardware, firmware and software layers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work constructively with engineers, installation contractors, suppliers and clients. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects concurrently, with availability to attend project sites when required.
