An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and proactive Administrator to join a small, collaborative team based in Canberra's Parliamentary Triangle. Supporting a highly regarded industry association, this varied role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while contributing to events, stakeholder engagement, communications and the day-to-day operations of the organisation.


This is a diverse position suited to someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering a high standard of administrative and operational support. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the office while helping deliver high-profile events and maintaining strong relationships with members, industry representatives and government stakeholders.



Your new role

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and broader team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing executive support including diary, meeting and travel management
  • Preparing correspondence, presentations, reports and briefing materials
  • Coordinating stakeholder communications and liaising with members, industry representatives and government stakeholders
  • Assisting with the delivery of conferences, forums, workshops, dinners, webinars and other industry events
  • Managing registrations, invitations, event logistics and supplier coordination
  • Supporting website updates, social media content and digital communications
  • Maintaining databases, records management systems and office documentation
  • Coordinating office administration, facilities, suppliers and service providers
  • Assisting with a range of operational projects and organisational priorities

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will possess:

  • Previous experience in executive assistance, office administration, events coordination or a similar support role
  • Exceptional organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Sound judgement and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach with a genuine can-do attitude
Experience with CRM systems, event management platforms, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Campaign Monitor, SurveyMonkey or social media scheduling tools will be highly regarded but is not essential.
