Cullen Grummit & Roe is seeking an experienced full time Senior Electrical Engineer to support the supervision and delivery of Electrical works on a major port infrastructure project in Brisbane. Main Duties: - Liaise with CGR’s site team and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives. - Mentor, train, and support local staff, building capability and ensuring knowledge transfer. - Report progress, risks, and issues to senior management and client stakeholders in a timely and structured manner. - Review, assess, and monitor contractors’ construction programmes. - Ensure alignment with project milestones, budget, and quality requirements. - Provide proactive solutions to mitigate delays and disruptions. - Champion a strong HSSE culture on-site, ensuring compliance with local legislation, CGR policies, and client requirements. - Strong understanding of electrical safety, HV safety, isolation/LOTO procedures, permits, risk assessments and safe systems of work. - Good understanding of construction safety requirements, including working around existing services, live infrastructure and other construction activities. - Drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental protection. - Ensure all works meet the highest technical and quality standards. - Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. - Review contractor submittals, method statements, and quality documentation. Essential Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - 10+ years' experience in Electrical Engineering. - Experience supervising electrical works on large-scale port, terminal, marine, or industrial infrastructure projects. - Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, earthing, cable installations, electrical distribution, and electrical monitoring/control systems. - Experience with testing, commissioning, and energisation of electrical systems. - Proven experience in site supervision, inspections, contractor management, and coordination of construction activities. - Ability to coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, mechanical, and automation disciplines. - Experience reviewing drawings, RFIs, ITPs, WMS, technical submissions, and commissioning documentation. - Strong understanding of electrical safety, HV safety, isolation/LOTO procedures, permits, risk assessments and safe systems of work. - Good understanding of construction safety requirements, including working around existing services, live infrastructure and other construction activities. - Good knowledge of Australian Standards and Queensland requirements. - Current Construction White Card. - Must be based in Brisbane, Australia with a valid work visa. Preferred: - Experience in port, marine, or large-scale infrastructure projects - Communications systems. - Brownfield works within operational terminals
