Position Overview: Samaria Bedding Pty Ltd t/a Beds R Us is a bedding retailer and warehouse offering mattresses, bed frames, adjustable beds and bedroom furniture. The business focuses on personalised, expert service and helping customers find suitable sleep solutions, including quality Australian-made mattress options. As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day retail operations, coordinating staff, supporting customers, managing stock and suppliers, and contributing to the store’s sales and operational performance. This position requires strong leadership, organisational, customer service and retail management skills. Responsibilities and Tasks: • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the retail store and maintain efficient, customer-focused service. • Coordinate retail staff activities, including rostering, allocation of duties, performance support and day-to-day supervision. • Manage customer service activities and ensure customers receive appropriate mattress, bed frame, bedroom furniture, pricing, ordering and after-sales information. • Monitor store sales performance and work with staff and management to support sales targets and improve retail outcomes. • Oversee stock levels, replenishment and inventory control to maintain appropriate product availability in line with customer demand. • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding mattress, bed frame and bedroom furniture orders, product availability, pricing, deliveries and stock requirements. • Maintain effective merchandising and product presentation, ensuring retail displays, pricing and promotional material are accurate and well presented. • Oversee customer orders, payments, exchanges, returns, refunds and other after-sales matters in accordance with business procedures. • Coordinate incoming and outgoing stock and customer deliveries, addressing damaged, missing or incorrectly supplied products where required. • Maintain accurate retail documentation and records, including purchase orders, supplier invoices, customer orders, receipts and sales information. • Monitor sales trends, customer demand and stock movement to identify replenishment, pricing and promotional requirements. • Manage store opening and closing procedures, daily takings and transaction reconciliation, and support the security and readiness of the retail environment. • Resolve customer concerns and complaints professionally and implement appropriate service solutions. • Ensure staff follow internal procedures, customer service standards and workplace health and safety requirements. • Provide management with regular updates on store performance, staffing, stock requirements, customer feedback and operational matters. Qualifications and Skills: • Relevant qualification. • Minimum 1 year experience as a Retail Manager. • Strong leadership, staff coordination and retail operations skills. • Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving abilities. • Sound knowledge of stock control, merchandising, sales processes and supplier coordination. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
