Our client MAJHAIL AUSTRALIAN PTY LTD is seeking a highly organised and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations of its growing vehicle fleet and transport activities. The company has recently doubled its warehouse capacity and is preparing for substantial fleet expansion over the next three years, making this role essential to managing future operational growth. Rising petrol and fuel costs are placing increased pressure on the transport sector, requiring a highly skilled professional capable of optimising fleet utilisation, controlling fuel consumption, negotiating supplier arrangements, and implementing effective cost-management strategies. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for coordinating the purchase, servicing, maintenance, and allocation of vehicles and equipment, while ensuring all fleet activities operate efficiently and in line with business requirements. The role also involves liaising with clients on transport needs, advising on vehicle options, managing bookings and schedules, overseeing the movement of vehicles and goods, and maintaining accurate operational records. Job Responsibility: • Organise and coordinate fleet administration and operational procedures to support efficient transportation and logistics activities, ensuring optimal vehicle utilisation, timely maintenance, regulatory compliance, accurate record-keeping, and adherence to workplace health and safety requirements. Duties: • Assess vehicle requirements by evaluating type, load capacity, fuel efficiency, safety features, cargo space, and tracking systems to ensure alignment with operational needs. • Source, negotiate, and secure the purchase or lease of vehicles, obtaining favourable terms on pricing, financing, service packages, and warranties. • Manage the disposal of outdated or damaged vehicles through trade-ins, resale, or scrapping, ensuring cost-effective outcomes within budget parameters. • Oversee scheduled servicing and maintenance programs to keep all fleet vehicles in optimal working condition, reduce downtime, and extend asset lifespan. • Monitor and control fleet operating costs, including fuel usage, repairs, insurance, and overall vehicle efficiency. • Provide expert advice to rental agencies and leasing companies on vehicle selection, acquisition, and fleet management, drawing on industry knowledge to support operational effectiveness. • Maintain detailed records of all fleet transactions, including purchase and lease agreements, registrations, service histories, insurance documentation, and disposal records. • Conduct market research to identify trends and changes within the vehicle rental and leasing sector, using insights to strengthen competitiveness and inform strategic planning. • Assist in recruiting qualified drivers by assessing their skills, experience, and adherence to safety standards. • Develop and manage driver rosters to maximise fleet utilisation, meet delivery schedules, and minimise idle time. • Manage the registration and licensing of all fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national regulations, keeping documentation current, and adjusting operations in response to regulatory changes. • Monitor driver behaviour and performance using tracking systems and feedback mechanisms to uphold safety, efficiency, and customer service standards. Qualification: • AQF Diploma or Higher • 1-2 years of experience in related field Salary: • $75,000 - $95,000 + Superannuation Full Time: • 38 hours per week
