Job description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse | Nurse Grade 6 with strong rural and remote nursing experience for a short-term opportunity in Tambo, Central West Queensland.

This is an opportunity to support a rural community health service in a remote setting and would suit a nurse who is confident working autonomously and has previous Queensland Health and rural/remote experience.

Contract Details

• Location: Tambo, Central West QLD
• Role: Clinical Nurse / NG6
• Dates: 26–31 October 2026
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
• On-call/recall requirements after hours and weekends
• Base rate: $91.00–$115.52 per hour
• Travel and accommodation assistance/contribution available, subject to applicable arrangements

About the Role

The Primary Health Clinic provides healthcare services to the local community and surrounding rural properties.

The service operates with a small team and the Clinical Nurse will need to be comfortable working independently in a rural environment, supported by Queensland Health and local operational resources.

The role involves:

• Providing high-quality clinical care to the local community
• Working autonomously within a rural primary health setting
• Responding appropriately to clinical presentations and emergencies
• Supporting local community health needs
• Participating in on-call/recall arrangements

Essential Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrated rural and remote nursing experience
• Clinical Nurse / NG6-level experience
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting
• Confirmed availability for the full contract period
• Current mandatory compliance documentation suitable for Queensland Health clearance
