Federal Government opportunity - EL2 Senior independent Advisor
- Play a key role in influencing government decision-making by providing high-quality strategic advice on disability policy and participant outcomes.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, including people with disability, community representatives and government decision-makers.

- Demonstrated experience providing strategic advice within a government or public sector environment.
- Providing high-quality written advice, briefings and strategic recommendations to support government decision-making, ensuring information is clear, accurate and written in plain English.
- Engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, including disability advocates, community representatives and internal business areas, to gather insights and inform policy and operational improvements.
- Analysing qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating complex information into practical recommendations.
- Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance team performance and outcomes.
- Managing and mentoring staff while contributing to the development of a collaborative, high-performing and inclusive team culture.
- Experience preparing high-quality advice, reports and briefing materials within a government, policy or complex stakeholder environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write in plain English and apply accessibility standards and Australian Government style guides.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, ideally within the disability sector or broader community services environment.
- Proven experience analysing complex qualitative and quantitative information to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Leadership experience, including managing teams, improving processes and driving positive organisational outcomes.
- Qualifications in disability, health, public policy or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the broader disability sector, including the social model of disability.
- Experience working directly with people with disability in accessible and inclusive ways.
- Lived experience of disability.
- Initial 3-month contract with a strong possibility of extension.
- Part-time opportunity (0.6 FTE).
- Standard working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- Locations available in Melbourne/Geelong (VIC).
- Maximum hourly rate of $100.56 + super.
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
