Location: Port Broughton, SA, 5522 Full-Time: Immediate start Reports to: Aged Care Facility Manager Job Title: Aged or Disabled Carer Salary range: $79,500 - $85,000 - depending on skills level and work experience + superannuation. Job Closure date: 30 days About This Role: Our client is a highly respected aged care provider in the Port Broughton region, renowned for its person-centred approach and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors. We are seeking a full-time Aged or Disabled Carer to join their dedicated care team. In this role, you will provide hands-on personal care while fostering meaningful connections with residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing is prioritised. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that upholds the highest standards of aged care, with ongoing training and professional development to support your growth in the sector. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation including notes, assessments and care plans • Observe, report and document all change in resident need requirements • Ensure maintenance of clean linen, and making of beds for residents • Assisting residents with mobility. • Accurately deliver laundered clothing to residents’ rooms • Assist with the serving of meals assisting residents as required • Assist in the delivery of specialized nursing needs for residents • Assisting in personal hygiene and dressing • Support independence of residents by providing appropriate assistance with personal care in accordance with care plans • Liaise with staff, residents, visitors, GPs and allied health professionals to provide prompt and friendly service • Act to protect the rights of residents including confidentiality, privacy, individual choice and decision-making • Provide emotional support to residents • Actively participate in the Care team environment • Build and maintain effective relationships • Ensure compliance against the Aged Care Standards is maintained where appropriate • Be responsive to the needs of the company and its changing environment • Attend meetings and compulsory education as required • Identify self-education needs • Participate in safety and improvement activities for the organization • Identify and report areas of risk (including complaints) within the scope of the position • Demonstrate adherence to all OH & S policies and procedures • Display responsibility for self, team and environment • Ensure compliance with all legislation and other requirements relevant to your position • Observe and practice the principles and obligations of Equal Employment Opportunity and maintain a workplace free from bullying and harassment • Comply with and promote company policies and procedures Skills & Requirements • Must comply with having annual flu vaccination and be fully immunised against COVID-19. • Must sign a statutory declaration to identify serious criminal activity committed outside of Australia.
