Hays is partnering with a Queensland Government department seeking an experienced Information Officer to join a specialised compliance and regulatory team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the administration and enforcement of Queensland's labour hire licencing framework while supporting stakeholder engagement, compliance activities, and investigations.
Working within a collaborative and professional environment, you will provide high-quality information and advice to a diverse range of stakeholders, support compliance initiatives, and assist with audits, investigations, and education activities. This role offers variety, purpose, and the opportunity to develop valuable experience within a regulatory government setting.


Your new role

As the Information Officer, you will:
  • Provide accurate information and advice regarding labour hire licencing legislation and related regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to stakeholder enquiries and deliver high-quality customer service outcomes.
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex matters and prepare correspondence, reports, and information papers.
  • Assist with investigations, audits, compliance activities, and community education initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records within a case management system and analyse information to support compliance outcomes.
  • Produce reports and statistical information relating to compliance issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and a positive team culture.


What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience interpreting legislation, policies, procedures, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Well-developed customer service and enquiry management experience.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a changing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar case management systems will be highly regarded.


What you'll get in return

  • AO4 equivalent rate of $62.90 per hour plus superannuation.
  • Initial 6-month contract with potential extension.
  • Brisbane CBD and Brendale office locations.
  • Flexible working arrangements with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week (subject to approval).
