Position Overview:
Scion Group Pty LTD - Scion is a privately owned property development and construction organisation delivering medium- and high-density residential projects across Greater Sydney. As a Contract Administrator at Scion Group Pty LTD, you will be responsible for administering construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, variations, claims, procurement documentation and commercial records across the company's medium- and high-density residential projects. This position requires strong contract administration, commercial awareness, attention to detail and effective coordination with project teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Develop, review, interpret and administer construction contracts, subcontract agreements and contract variations in line with Scion's project requirements, company procedures and applicable obligations.
• Respond to contract-related enquiries and resolve documentation, scope and commercial issues in consultation with project managers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
• Manage and maintain accurate contract paperwork, correspondence, registers, notices, approvals and supporting records across Scion's residential development and construction projects.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, consultants and other stakeholders to ensure contractual requirements, project milestones and agreed deliverables are met.
• Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance against agreed scopes and work orders, documenting and reporting variations, delays and other contractual matters requiring attention.
• Prepare and review contract submissions, commercial reports, project records and supporting documentation for management review and project decision-making.
• Administer subcontractor procurement activities, including preparing tender packages, coordinating tender queries, reviewing submissions and assisting with negotiation and award recommendations.
• Assess and process subcontractor progress claims, variations and final accounts, maintaining accurate records to support project cost control and payment processes.
• Assist with project cost planning, forecasting and budget monitoring, identifying contractual or commercial risks and escalating issues that may affect project outcomes.
• Support contract close-out activities, including reconciliation of outstanding variations and claims, collection of completion documentation and maintenance of complete project records.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant qualification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Contract Administrator
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, subcontract administration, variations, progress claims and contract documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness, numerical accuracy and attention to detail in cost and contract administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence liaising with project managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong organisational, document control and reporting skills, with the ability to manage competing contractual deadlines across multiple project activities.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 – $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
