ARA Marine is seeking a talented and experienced Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join their team to help support growth.
Location: 42 Zedora Turn, Henderson, WA 6166
Full time: 38 hours per week
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, equipment manuals, and job requirements to plan - and establish installation reference points for marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Install, maintain service, and repair marine airconditioning, refrigeration, chilled-water, ventilation, and associated mechanical systems and equipment.
- Measure, mark out, drill, cut, bend, flare, thread and install piping, tubing, ductwork, mounting brackets, supports, and associated components in accordance with technical specifications and installation requirements.
- Install, repair, and replace refrigeration and air conditioning components including compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, switches, gauges, valves, pumps, controls, and associated electrical and mechanical components
- Conduct pressure, leak and integrity testing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems using appropriate test gases, fluids, pressure-testing equipment, and procedures.
- Inspect, service, overhaul, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems to identify deterioration, wear, faults, leaks and other defects
- Reassemble and recommission systems following maintenance, repair, overhaul, or component replacement, ensuring systems operate correctly and safely
- Identify and record the causes of equipment malfunctions, faults, failures, and performance issues, together with the diagnostic processes and corrective actions undertaken
- Coordinate with engineers, electricians, trades personnel, supervisors, and other marine personnel to ensure air conditioning and refrigeration installations, repairs, and maintenance activities are completed efficiently and in accordance with project requirements
Required skills and attributes:
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings, plans and schematics
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Min 1 year of experience in a related field
- Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant field
