Glenwood Logistics Pty Ltd, trading as Adelaide Contract Warehousing, is an established provider of warehousing, transport and logistics services. The successful applicant will undertake structural steel erection, assembly and installation activities, supporting the construction, modification and maintenance of steel frameworks and associated infrastructure in a safe and efficient manner. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: - Erect and dismantle structural steel frameworks, columns, beams and supporting components for buildings and other structures. - Interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and installation plans to determine structural steel assembly requirements. - Position, align and secure structural steel columns, beams, girders and bracing using appropriate installation techniques. - Assemble and connect structural steel components using bolts, brackets, fasteners and other specified connection methods. - Set up and operate suitable lifting equipment to position heavy structural steel sections safely. - Attach appropriate slings, hooks, shackles and lifting accessories to steel components for controlled lifting operations. - Measure, mark and check structural steel components to ensure accurate alignment and installation. - Install structural bracing, supports and connections to maintain stability throughout steel erection activities. - Assist with the erection and dismantling of temporary supports and access structures where authorised. - Coordinate with crane operators, riggers and other construction personnel during structural steel lifting and placement. - Inspect structural steel components for damage, defects and dimensional inconsistencies before installation. - Use hand tools, power tools and fastening equipment to assemble and secure steel frameworks. - Follow approved lifting procedures, safe work method statements and working-at-heights safety requirements. - Conduct routine inspections of tools, lifting accessories and equipment before commencing erection activities. - Maintain organised work areas and assist with structural steel repairs, modifications and dismantling activities. Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: - A minimum of 12 months' recent, directly relevant experience in structural steel erection or a closely comparable role is essential. - An AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant construction or steelwork discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is required. - Demonstrated ability to interpret structural drawings, construction plans and technical specifications for accurate steel framework assembly and installation. - Practical experience positioning, aligning, bolting and securing structural steel beams, columns, girders and supporting bracing components. - Sound understanding of lifting operations, rigging accessories and safe load-handling procedures when working with structural steel components. - Ability to safely operate appropriate hand tools, power tools and installation equipment used in structural steel construction. - Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures, working-at-heights requirements and safe work method statements on construction sites. - Ability to work effectively with crane operators, riggers and construction teams while maintaining accurate workmanship and safe practices.
